Frequently Asked Questions
If we haven't answered your question, ask us! Most likely someone else is wondering the same thing.
We require a minimum of two, one-on-one sessions a week which last an hour each. More than 2 hours a week is fine, but less will not work. During these sessions, your child will begin to see and feel adequate progress, which helps him or her to gain confidence and retain the information learned. Once children become confident in the work they do during their sessions, they will begin to apply their newly acquired knowledge to their academic studies.
How many hours of tutoring do you recommend?
"Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability. Dyslexia refers to a cluster of symptoms, which result in people having difficulties with specific language skills, particularly reading. Students with dyslexia usually experience difficulties with other language skills such as spelling, writing, and pronouncing words."
-The International Dyslexia Association
What is Dyslexia ?
No, we also tutor students who simply need help learning to read or need to strengthen an area of reading like comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. Learning to read is not a natural skill we are born with; it must be taught. We teach reading using a systematic, explicit, and multi-sensory approach to reading. Research the Barton Reading and Spelling System for more information.
Do you only tutor people with Dyslexia ?
That completely depends on your child. Give us a call and we can discuss your options and what is best for your son or daughter. 951-595-1212
